THE GREAT ESCAPE
I've been visiting this beautiful spot in the Portuguese hills for the last 13 years. It’s the home of two of my first yoga teachers, Peter & Sue, who took me under their wing and taught me way more than a few yoga poses when I landed here aged 19 for my first ever yoga retreat! It's a magic place that is very close to my heart and I’m super happy to be running retreats here now myself so I can share it with you.
I’ll be running two separate week-long (Saturday to Saturday) retreats here from 20th to 27th July and 27th July to 3rd August.
If you're looking to completely escape the buzz of everyday life, switch off, have some time to yourself to rest and reflect whilst getting deep into your yoga practice, this is the perfect place.
Away from any noisy cities, we're completely immersed in natural surroundings, with the most incredible views across lush green hills and valleys. A chilled-out yoga holiday and spiritual haven all at once.
Make yourself completely at home
The whole place has a lovely, warm family atmosphere. Dogs, cats, chickens and a donkey mill around; we take walks through the hills and trips to swim in the lake; we have three incredible vegetarian meals each day (my mouth is actually watering thinking of it!) and long, sun-soaked hours to take a book from the library to the hammocks scattered amongst the trees or down to lounge by the cliff-edge pool with its stunning views.
For me, this is the most chilled and healing setting on Earth, and we'll be adding to it all with two daily yoga practices - meditation and flow in the mornings and yin practices in the evenings.
